The Pediatric CPR and First Aid Comprehensive class is intended for individuals with limited or no medical training
This is a course that offers parents, caregivers and family members the best of Save a Little Life’s Pediatric Courses. We have customized this course to combine two comprehensive pediatric courses into one informative and interactive course.
In this course, you will learn what to do until professional help arrives
Learn how to respond to and manage child and infant-related illness and injuries within the first few minutes of them occurring.
The course includes:
- Safe practices for Home Safety
- How to perform Adult & Pediatric CPR
- How to address mild and severe airway blockages in adults, children and infants
- Controlling Bleeding and Bandaging
- Burns and Electrical Injuries
- Allergic Reactions
- Breathing Problems
- Bites and Stings
- Broken Bones and Sprains
- Eye Injuries
- Head, Neck and Spine Injuries
- Poison Emergencies
Our course begins with an essential review of safe practices in the home to lower risk of common household accidents.
Next on the agenda is a discussion of what CPR is and under what circumstances it may be required, followed by a demonstration of the basic skills.
Life-sized mannequins are then provided to each participant and the instructor will introduce various scenarios in which a person might find themselves.
Students also receive crucial information on the basics of airway obstruction and instruction on how to remove an obstruction.
Also included is instruction on how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on both children and adults.
Each student will receive a Save A Little Life™ packet containing:
- A companion booklet with expanded First Aid information
- A poisonous plants chart issued by Poison Control
- Our Quick CPR Guide
- A Save A Little Life™ Resource Guide for professionals in the field of family safety and support
